The Vlks | Rainy Day Romance Estate Wedding | Sydonie Mansion Mt. Dora Fl.

|The day has FINALLY arrived in which we can share this wedding that stole my heart. I have been literally dying to share, but when we found out that, unbelievably, Style Me Pretty wanted to publish it, two things: one OH MY GOSH, and two nooo now I can't share until the publish(cries inside). So incredibly flattered to be featured along with my dear friend the Film Photog lead herself Jessica, and all the other vendors who made this rainy day romance as perfect as possible.|

Several years ago I toured Sydonie Mansion as they where trying to acquire historical status, and I have loved the building for it story and its beauty ever since, touring several years in a row(smitten I am) with history of my home town. So when Jessica reached out wanting a digital photog along with her STUNNING film imagery for the big day, and she told me the location I was beyond elated. I think I might have scared her with my enthusiasm.

Alexis + Evan's day started grey. Darn you Florida. Directly in the middle of July and Floridas rainy season, needless to say we where all praying with all our might that the clouds may lift. The outside ceremony got moved to the porch and the back to the field when Alexis made the final call, "we where going to get marry even if its pouring".

A day full of sweet love and emotional moments, as bride and groom exchanged personalized gifts to each other. Evan wrote a song for Alexis and had it recored for them as there first dance, and let her hear it moments before their first look. It had us all crying our hearts out. As the bride and groom shared first touch, a prayer, and then their precious first look, a bit of sun came out to shine just for them.

The ceremony was held in the rainy drizzle of a summer evening, and was officiated by the grooms father, adding to the emotional meaning of the sacred words shared. Everyone was enchanted but the scene, even the Sydonie Cat who came and watched the ceremony from the center isle, adding to the homey and intimate feeling of the whole day.

This wedding has touched my heart, and the sweet love of the family made an impacting memory. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we all had capturing it. And thank you Style Me Pretty for sharing their story!
